Robert Powell: Tree Pictures, South-Western Australia

Pricklybark (Eucalyptus todtiana)
This charmingly stunted little tree reflects the very infertile sands in which it grows, between Mandurah and the Arrowsmith River, near Dongara.  Since it associates mainly with banksias, pricklybark does not need to grow tall to receive all the sunlight it needs; it is generally much wider than tall.

The pictures are arranged in order from north to south.
